Simone Nardini, bachelor degree in costume and set designer at Accademia di Belle Arti of Brera, Milan (Academy of Fine Arts of Brera), he made his acting debut at age fifteen as a co-protagonist in a tv show produced by Swiss Television directed by Award Winner Alfredo Giannetti.
In the summer of 2016, ShowBees nominated him art director of Experience On Stage show at the Open Air Theatre of Milan – Expo.
He always worked in comedy theatre and musicals and has collaborated with the main italian theatre companies, as co-director in the following productions: Alta Società (High Society), directed by Massimo Romeo Piparo, Notting Hill, directed by Massimo Natale, La resistibile ascesa…(The average rising…), directed by Gianluca Guidi, Taxi a due piazze (Two-seat taxi), directed by Gigi Proietti (2005 edition), E sottolineo Se! (And I said…If!), directed by Gianluca Guidi, A Piedi Nudi nel Parco (Barefeet in the park), directed by Gianluca Guidi, Jesus Christ Superstar (2003/04 edition), and Lady Day, directed by Massimo Romeo Piparo, Serial Killer per Signora (Serial Killer for Ladies, 2002/03 edition), directed by Gianluca Guidi, Promises, Promises, directed by Johnny Dorelli, Nights on Broadway, Evita and La Febbre del Sabato Sera (Saturday Night Fever), all directed by Massimo Romeo Piparo; Un Americano a Parigi (An American in Paris, with Christian De Sica), directed by Franco Miseria.
He is assistent director to Giancarlo Cobelli in L’angelo di fuoco (Angel of Fire, 1994 edition) at Teatro La Scala of Milan and assistant director to Gaetano Callegaro for Mille e una note (Arabian Nights) and La Bottega fantastica (The Fantastic Shop) at Teatro Litta of Milan.
For comedy theatre he directed Crazy For You, Le Fiabe nella Fiaba (Fables in the fable), Pene d’Amor perdute (Love’s Labour’s Lost), Sognando (Dreaming), Anything Goes. He’s the author of: Le Fiabe nella Fiaba (national tour), LontaneMete (Faraway Goals, Choreography by Orazio Caiti), Emergences 2 (Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines-Paris Theatre, 2000 production by Regional Dance Centre/Aterballetto). He wrote various reviews on international productions for Musical! Magazine from 2001 to 2011 and collaborated to the staging of the first Musical Award conducted by Paolo Limiti.
His work as a set and costume designer includes: MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S CIRCUS, Le Fiabe nella Fiaba, Anything Goes, Crazy for You, Nights on Broadway (Teatro Nazionale, Milan 2002). Costumes for Bologna’s Motor-Show, Casinò de la Vallée, Saint Vincent, and the film I quattro elementi esoterici (The four esoteric elements) by Caterina Roli. He was set and costume supervisor for the Ambra Orfei production La Principessa delle stelle (Princess of the stars) and assistent set and costume designer for La Bottega Fantastica and Le Mille e una notte productions (Teatro Litta, Milan).
Beside his work as art director at MTS Musical! The School, since 2004 he leads a personal artistic research in the area of performing and avant-garde theatre: he sets up self-discovery workshops, he’s the curator of the show Carne Cruda (Raw Meat) and director of Provini per Carne in Scatola (Auditions for Canned Meat) and of LORCAbaret. The latter being an Italian original production, it was presented in 2012 in Los Angeles in its English version with an American cast. The show reunites elements of musical comedy with circus and aesthetic research, creating an innovative expressive language that received a generally positive reviews in the USA.
